Turtle Lessons

This week I came upon not one, but two turtles.  I had noted along the way that a new bridge had been built across the creek.  In seeing this, I knew immediately that this was the problem.  Their habitat had been altered, and they were displaced. Drive With Purpose

During our travels over the recent spring break, my family apparently diagnosed me with “a poor sense of direction”.  I mean yes, I missed a few exits and a few turns.  But with the navigation system on (we call her Vanna) and in full effect, I always knew we’d get there despite my mistakes and missteps.  I knew Vanna would “recalculate my route”.  All I had to do was know where we were going and be willing to drive on, no matter what.  She would handle the rest. Spring is Within Us All

My daughter has been saving her money lately, but this week she spontaneously bought a pansy.  Apparently, she did some research and determined that her room could provide the ideal conditions to support the plant’s growth and development as it lives out its short life.  She named her pansy Daphne, and lovingly repotted her in soil purchased precisely to her needs.  She has placed her carefully on her windowsill, with special consideration given to the time of day and the intensity of light.  She has her window open to provide an ideal temperature and is closely monitoring water levels.   And…
